Leomark Studios Signs Co-Production Deal for 'The Backyard'
Jen West's feature-length script is set in the San Fernando Valley.
Leomark Studios has signed on to co-produce screenwriter Jen West's feature-length script The Backyard.
The story, set in a San Fernando Valley neighborhood, is described as “a smart and scary mashup of Desperate Housewives and The Grudge" by Leomark's head of development, Maria Collis. Production is slated to begin in Los Angeles in spring 2014.
Leomark Studios will be seeking financing for The Backyard at the American Film Market in November.
A native Angeleno, West has written short stories and poems, along with recently appearing with Bill Ratner at “Wanted: Writers,” a live reading series at Rumours Coffee House in West Los Angeles.
Los Angeles-based production and sales company Leomark Studios has produced the motorsports docs Let's Riiide and Where Cars Don't Dare, and the lifestyle series iKuztom.
