Leslie Mann, Israel Broussard Cast in Sofia Coppola's 'Bling Ring' (Exclusive)
The two join Emma Watson in the project centered on a group of fame-obsessed teens who break into homes of celebrities.
Leslie Mann and Israel Broussard have joined the cast of The Bling Ring, Sofia Coppola’s latest production.
Based on true events that took place in Beverly Hills, the project sees Emma Watson lead an ensemble cast to tell the story of a group of fashion and fame-obsessed teens who broke into the homes of celebrities.
Coppola, who wrote the script and is directing, is hoping to break a new crop of actors with the movie and has also cast newcomers Katie Chang, Claire Pfister and Georgia Rock to make their feature debut as members of the thieving ring. Taissa Farmiga (American Horror Story) is also in the cast.
Mann will play a mom of two of the girls from the Bling Ring, Broussard is the male lead of the movie.
Coppola, who is producing with brother Roman Coppola and Youree Henley, has said previously she wants to reflect today’s culture of celebrity and brand obsession.
The movie will shoot this spring on location in Los Angeles. Executive producers for the picture are Fred Roos and Michael Zakin.
Mann’s last movie appearance was in The Change-Up with Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman and next stars with Paul Rudd in This is 40, the sequel to Knocked Up. She is repped by CAA.
Broussard is a rising actor who made his debut on ABC’s Romantically Challenged and his feature debut in Rob Reiner’s coming-of-age drama Flipped. He also appeared in WWE’s The Chaperone. Broussard is repped by Paradigm and MC Talent.
