Action screenwriter Jonathan Lemkin, who wrote the Mark Wahlberg thriller Shooter, has signed with Verve.

He was previously with WME.

Lemkin began his screenwriting career penning episodes of Hill Street Blues and 21 Jump Street and made his feature debut with The Devil’s Advocate, the dramatic thriller starring Keanu Reeves, Charlize Theron and Al Pacino.

He also worked on Lethal Weapon 4 and the sci-fi thriller Red Planet.

Most recently he wrote The Longest Night, which Conde Nast is producing for Paramount and Frank Marshall is attached to direct. The project is based on true events of the Alaska Ranger, the ship that sank in the cold, rocky depths of the Bering Sea in March 2008.

Lemkin also wrote The Elder, a female-driven supernatural thriller that he plans to direct with Lorenzo di Bonaventura producing. The script is currently out to cast.
