'The Letter' Takes Home the Top Cinefondation Prize in Cannes
Kamal Lazraq’s Drari and Son Tae-gyum's Fly By Night take second and third prizes
Michel Gondry’s Cinefondation and short films jury sent The Letter home with their First Prize on Friday at a ceremony in Cannes.
Doroteya Droumeva’s German title was selected from 16 student films from across the globe that made the cut out of 1,600 entries. The film will receive a 15,000-euro award.
The second prize went to Kamal Lazraq’s Drari from France and third prize to South Korean title Fly By Night directed by Son Tae-gyum.
Gondry’s jury featured Julie Gayet, Jessica Hausner, Corneliu Porumboiu and João Pedro Rodrigues.
