Liam Hemsworth: What's Next For the 'Hunger Games' Star
The Aussie actor can be seen in the highly anticipated science-fiction romance opposite Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson.
As anticipation builds for the upcoming film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games, star Liam Hemsworth is keeping busy with multiple projects coming down the pipeline.

The Australian actor, whom many remember as Miley Cyrus’ on and off-screen love interest in The Last Song, is currently in the midst of filming AWOL alongside Austin Stowell and Aimee Teegarden.
The Danny Mooney directed war drama is slated for a 2012 release, but Hemsworth was spotted out and about in Ypsilanti, Michigan earlier this month in his army greens for filming.
Also still in production, The Hunger Games is currently filming in North Carolina. Hemsworth, however, has two other projects reportedly in pre-production.

He’s the only actor tied to Chuck Russell’s 3D action-adventure, Arabian Nights. Set to portray Ali Baba, Hemsworth will join forces with the still-to-be-cast Sinbad and Aladdin in an effort to rescue Queen Scheherazade in the film expected for a 2013 release.
Hemsworth is also rumored to be involved in the Michael and Peter Spierig family animation, The Power of the Dark Crystal. In a loose tie-in to Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss character, IMDB describes the film’s lead as “a girl made of fire” who steals a shard of crystal with the intent of saving the dying sun. The screenplay, written by Craig Pearce, is based on Jim Henson characters.
The first installment of The Hunger Games, directed by Gary Ross, will hit theaters on March 23, 2012. The film adaptation of the three-part book series will see a total of four films, much like the final chapters of the Harry Potter and Twilight series.
Hemsworth’s older brother, Chris Hemsworth, is currently filming The Avengers and will be seen in Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman opposite Twilight star, Kristen Stewart.
