'Hunger Games' Star Liam Hemsworth Headlining Robert Luketic's 'Paranoia'; Harrison Ford, Gary Oldman Also Circling
Stuart Ford's IM Global is fully financing the corporate espionage thriller, which begins shooting early this summer.
Fresh off of the box office blockbuster The Hunger Games, Liam Hemsworth has snagged the lead role in director Robert Luketic's Paranoia.
Stuart Ford's IM Global is fully financing the thriller -- based on the Joseph Finder's 2004 novel -- with Luketic eyeing an early summer start date.
Hemsworth isn't the only high-profile cast member: Paranoia producers Alexandra Milchan, Management 360 and Gaumont are in advanced negotiations with Gary Oldman and Harrison Ford to join the cast.
Paranoia is a corporate espionage thriller set in the world of dueling telecom giants. Published in the U.S. by St. Martin's Press and Orion, Finder's book hit the New York Times bestseller list and tells the story of Adam Cassidy, an entry-level employee who is given the chance to save his job by becoming a corporate spy at a rival company.
The high-profile project reflects IM Global's expanding presence in the production space, in addition to remaining a leading international sales and financing company.
On April 27, the first film fully financed by IM Global hits the box office, Jason Statham starrer Safe, directed by Boaz Yakin. Lionsgate is releasing the movie.
IM Global also will have a major presence at the upcoming Cannes film market, where it could shop Paranoia to foreign buyers.
