Liam Neeson is ready for some more revenge in Hard Powder, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

The actor is set to star in the Rocky Mountains-set action thriller from European group Studiocanal and producer Michael Shamberg. Hans Petter Moland is directing from a screenplay by Frank Baldwin.

Adapting Moland’s Norwegian film In Order of Disappearance, Hard Powder sees Neeson playing Nels, an upright snowplow driver in a glitzy Colorado ski town whose life is turned upside down when his son is murdered by the powerful local drug kingpin. He then seeks to dismantle the cartel, but his vengeful crusade sparks a turf war between a Viking gangster and a Native American mafia boss.

Shamberg will produce the film. Studiocanal will fully finance the feature, and distribute it in its home territories of the U.K., Germany, France and Australia/New Zealand, and also introduce it to other territories' buyers at the Berlin Film Festival.

Neeson, a steady starrer of action films like the Taken films, Non-Stop and A Walk Among the Tombstones, is fresh off Martin Scorsese's long-gestating drama Silence. His upcoming projects also include Peter Landesman's Watergate biodrama Felt, Neil Jordan's horse-centric feature The Trainer and Jaume Collet-Serra's actioner The Commuter. He is repped by CAA and Artist Rights Group.
