Lily Collins and Kristen Bell Join Cast of 'Writers'
Logan Lerman, Nat Wolff and Liana Liberato are also added to the dramedy, starring Greg Kinnear and Jennifer Connelly.
Lily Collins, Logan Lerman, Nat Wolff, Liana Liberato and Kristen Bell have joined the cast of Writers, a feature film starring Greg Kinnear and Jennifer Connelly, which marks the feature directing debut of Josh Boone, who also wrote the project’s original screenplay.
With Kinnear playing a famous novelist obsessed with his ex-wife, played by Connelly, the dramedy interweaves the stories of various family members over the course of a year. Collins co-stars as their collegiate daughter Samantha who is pursued by fellow writing student (Lerman). Wolff will play her teenage brother, who is experiencing first love with Liberato’s character. Bell has been cast as a friend of the novelist who is trying to help him get over his ex-wife. Novelist Stephen King will appear as himself in a cameo, and other supporting cast members include Rusty Joiner and Patrick Schwarzenegger.
Principal photography begins March 12 in Wilmington, N.C. The film is being produced by Judy Cairo of Informant Media. Executive producers are Informant’s Michael A. Simpson and Eric Brenner along with Myles Nestel and Lisa Wilson of The Solution Entertainment Group, which is handling international sales while CAA handles U.S. rights. It being is produced in association with MICA Entertainment.
Collins will be next be seen in Mirror Mirror, the upcoming retelling of the Snow White tale. Lerman co-stars in the upcoming coming-of-age drama The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Wolff co-stars in the upcoming Peace, Love, & Misunderstanding. Liberato co-stars in the upcoming action thriller The Expatriate. Bell currently stars in the Showtime series House of Lies.
Collins, Lerman, Wolff, Liberato and Bell are represented by CAA. Lerman is managed by Lisa Lerman Management. Wolff is managed by Untitled Entertainment. Bell is managed by Brookside Artist. King is repped by Paradigm.
