Veteran communications and political strategist Deborah Lincoln has been named to the newly created position of vp corporate communications, Europe, at Warner Bros. Entertainment, it was announced Wednesday by executive vp corporate communications Susan Fleishman.

Lincoln will work closely with Fleishman, country managers and managing directors to manage press related to Warner Bros.' corporate business issues, executive changes, legislation, regulation, litigation and controversial policies or practices.

She also will help formulate and execute proactive overall communication strategies for the company in Europe, with a focus on the Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group and its subsidiary business in the European marketplace. Based in London, Lincoln will also serve as a spokesperson in Europe for the company as appropriate.

She will report to Fleishman through Scott Rowe, senior vp corporate communications at Warner Bros. Entertainment, and Jim Noonan, senior vp worldwide strategic promotions and communications at Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group.

"We are a global company with global interests, and it is imperative that we have a strong, strategic communications executive managing our strategy and our corporate press activities in key territories such as Europe," Fleishman said. Lincoln joins Warner Bros. Entertainment from Pearson Plc., where she was head of corporate communications and public affairs since November 2004.
