Linda Cardellini Joins Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg in 'Daddy's Home' (Exclusive)

Sean Anders is directing the film

Linda Cardellini will join Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg in the comedy Daddy's Home for Paramount and Red Granite, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Sean Anders is directing the film, which centers on a mild-mannered radio executive (Ferrell) looking to become the best stepdad possible to his wife’s two children just as their freewheeling and freeloading real father (Wahlberg) arrives on the scene.

Cardellini, who has played many memorable characters over the years from Lindsay on Freaks and Geeks to Samantha on ER and Don Draper's neighbor on AMC's Mad Men, will play Farrell's character's wife.

Paramount will distribute worldwide after production on Daddy's Home gets underway later this year. Brian Burns wrote the screenplay, with revisions by Anders, John Morris, Chris Henchy, Adam McKay and Etan Cohen.

Morris will produce with Ferrell, Henchy and McKay through their Gary Sanchez Productions banner. The executive producers are Riza Aziz, Joey McFarland and David Koplan from Red Granite Pictures, along with Kevin Messick and Jessica Elbaum of Gary Sanchez, Anders and Diana Pokorny.

Cardellini is currently working on Netflix's Bloodline, a new original series about a close-knit family of four adult siblings. The show premieres in March. She also co-stars with Kristen Wiig in the film Welcome to Me, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival. She's repped by ICM Partners and Mosaic.
