Linkin Park cancels Asia tour
Injured singer can't travel to China, Taiwan, MacauBEIJING -- Platinum-selling rock band Linkin Park has canceled its Asia tour, citing a back injury to singer Chester Bennington that prevents him from traveling.
The band, which played a sold-out concert in Shanghai in November, was slated to perform in Shanghai, Beijing and Wuhan on the Chinese mainland, along with shows in Taipei, Taiwan and the Macau Special Administrative Region, the band announced on its Web site Tuesday.
The shows were organized to raise money for victims of the May earthquake in Sichuan province. Linkin Park and the promoter of the China shows, Emma Ticketmaster, both made undisclosed donations to the band's charity organization, Music for Relief, despite the cancellation.
