In an Instagram post, Shinoda alerted fans about an update on the band's official site that now provides resources for those in crisis or with suicidal thoughts.

Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda thanked fans for respecting the band's privacy a week after the death of bandmate Chester Bennington, who committed suicide on July 20. He also offered suggestions to fans wishing to celebrate Bennington's life, as well as the link to Linkin Park's website update that provides resources for those in crisis or with suicidal thoughts.

"One week. Feels like forever. I'm here for a couple updates," Shinoda wrote on Instagram Friday.

"If you need a (local) place to celebrate Chester, look to tiny.cc/lpmemorial and all the amazing fan sites I've previously mentioned," he said.

"If you're having suicidal thoughts, go to chester.linkinpark.com," he continued.

Shinoda then addressed "scumbags" trying to make money off of Bennington's passing: "If you're going to buy merch in honor of Chester, consider who the purchase benefits. Don't give money to scumbag bootleggers and opportunists. Linkin Park official merchandise is at store.linkinpark.com."

Finally, for those wanting to donate to an organization in Bennington's honor, he suggested musicforrelief.org; the website states that all donations to Music for Relief "now be directed to the One More Light Fund in honor of Chester Bennington."
