NEW YORK -- Lionsgate is the latest film studio to join Apple Inc.'s iTunes service, the two companies said Monday.

The independent Hollywood studio will make 150 titles available on the Apple service this month, including "Terminator 2," "Basic Instinct" and "Dirty Dancing."

"We're delighted to offer these incredibly popular films on iTunes," said Steve Beeks, president of Lionsgate. "We look forward to adding even more films in the future.

Lionsgate will be joining the Walt Disney Co. on Apple's storefront. Select Disney titles have been available on iTunes since last October and last week it was reported that 1.3 million movies have been sold through the service.

Last month, Viacom Inc.'s Paramount division also announced a deal with iTunes. More than 100 titles from the studio's Paramount Pictures, Paramount Classics, MTV Films and Nickelodeon Movies imprints are available through the service.

ITunes now has more than 400 movies available priced at $9.99.
