Lionsgate, Grupo team to target Latinos

Joint venture Pantelion to be unveiled next week in N.Y.C.

TORONTO -- Lionsgate and Grupo Televisa are joining forces to target the Latino movie-going market with Pantelion, a joint venture to be unwrapped next week in New York City.

Lionsgate and the Latin media group are looking to jointly tap what they regard as an underserved market of around 26 million Hispanic American movie-goers with a slate of eight to 10 films a year.

Pantelion, with Jim McNamara as chairman and Paul Presburger as CEO, will be financed by both Lionsgate and Grupo Televisa.

Set to appear at a planned September 14 press conference to launch Pentelion is Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer and Grupo Televisa chairman and CEO Emilio Azcarraga.
