Lionsgate is staying the course with its television operation, signing executive vp Chris Selak to a new multiyear deal that will keep her at the studio where she spearheads all creative efforts in the expanding TV catalog.

“Working with Chris is a joy,” said Lionsgate Television Group chairman Kevin Beggs. “Her keen eye for talent and material, her executive prowess, and the breadth and depth of her industry relationships have played a pivotal role in growing our television business, and we are looking forward to continued success together.”

Selak, who joined Lionsgate in 2011 after a long tenure at John Wells Productions, leads development on both traditional and new-media efforts and oversees all current programming. Her Lionsgate roster includes ABC's Nashville, Netflix hit Orange Is the New Black, 10-90 sitcom Anger Management, Hulu's Deadbeat and upcoming WGN America drama Manhattan.

"I love Lionsgate's 'anything is possible' attitude and am excited to continue working with Kevin and the entire television group," said Selak. "Kevin and [COO] Sandra [Stern] foster a highly creative and collaborative environment, which makes it a pleasure to come to work every day. I'm proud of what we've accomplished and look forward to what lies ahead."

Under Selak, Lionsgate has seen TV output increase even more. In addition to Manhattan, the coming year sees the launch of History's Houdini mini, ABC Family drama Chasing Life, E! scripted foray The Royals and another 10-90 pitch in Kelsey Grammer and Martin Lawrence's Partners on FX. (A back 90 for George Lopez's Saint George looks very unlikely after a tepid test run.)

Lionsgate says farewell to one of its landmark TV series in 2015 with the end of AMC's Mad Men.
