'Lip Sync Battle' to Get Chinese Version on Video Site Sohu
Meanwhile, TVN Chile is adapting the Spike TV hit show for the Latin American country.
Viacom's Viacom International Media Networks on Monday unveiled two international production deals for Spike TV hit show Lip Sync Battle that will see the launch of Chinese and Chilean versions of the series.
The company said the show was Viacom’s biggest unscripted series launch ever. Chinese online media giant Sohu.com will adapt it for local audiences on its digital platforms, including tv.sohu.com and 56.com. The local version will be a 13-part series, the companies said.
Sohu also is the Chinese home of Saturday Night Live.
Also, TVN Chile will become the first free-to-air network to produce and air a local adaptation of the show. Currently in pre-production, the series will consist of 12 episodes of 70 minutes each. Lip Sync Chile: Duelo de Famosos is scheduled to air in the second half of 2015.
