'Little Boy' Gets U.S. Release Date

World War II feature Little Boy will open in the U.S. on Feb. 27, 2015.

Open Road Pictures will distribute the film, which centers on a 7-year-old boy who will do whatever it takes to end World War II and bring his father home. 

It stars Oscar nominees Emily Watson and Tom Wilkinson, alongside Kevin James, Ted LevineBen Chaplin, Michael Rapaport, Cary Tagawa, David HenrieEduardo Verastegui and newcomer Jakob Salvati as the little boy.

The film is the second directorial feature for Alejandro Monteverde, after 2006's Bella, and it was written by Monteverde and Pepe Portillo. It was executive produced by Roma Downey and Mark Burnett, who together produced this year's Christian film Son of God and executive produced the History Channel miniseries The Bible. 

Verastegui, Monteverde, Leo Severino, Emilio Azcarraga, Bernardo Gomez, Mickey O’Hare and Sean Wolfington are producers on Little Boy.
