Live Nation gulps down venue

Live Nation has acquired the operating company that manages and holds the 20-year lease for the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam. The 5,500-capacity hall is only venue of its size in the city and hosts more than 145 events per year.

"The Heineken Music Hall is one of the world's best midsized music venues and will further diversify our business in a very important music market," said Alan Ridgeway, CEO of international music at Live Nation. The acquisition strengthens the world's largest live-music company's market position in the Netherlands, which is its third-largest international market behind the U.K. and Belgium.
