The Eat Sheet: Hot New Restaurant -- Livello
THR's pick of the week for industry power dining puts L'Ermitage back on Beverly Hills' culinary map.
The Quick Pitch: L’Ermitage has brought in Joseph Elevado — who originally trained under Nobu Matsuhisa and was most recently stationed at Social House in Las Vegas — to unfurl a double-track, notably non-fusion-minded Italian and Asian fine-dining menu under the two-story domed main dining room.
The Insider’s Dish: The space is set for a redesign later this year. And no, despite L’Ermitage now being run by the Viceroy Hotel Group, showbiz-favorite decorator Kelly Wearstler (wife of owner Brad Korzen) will not be in charge of the new look.
STORY: The Eat Sheet: Three New Chef-Driven Restaurants Worth the Trek in Northeast L.A.
The Must-Order Item: Sea urchin and fluke crudo.
The Best Table: Out on the fecund patio filled with mature banana-leaf plants, right beside the modernist Zen fountain.
The Industry Neighbors: The Beverly Hills offices of Participant Media, Lakeshore Entertainment and Netflix are all within a couple of blocks.
