Liza Minnelli Checks in to Rehab for Substance Abuse
The 'Cabaret' Oscar-winner is seeking treatment for substance abuse.
Liza Minnelli has checked in to a rehabilitation facility for substance abuse, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Scott Gorenstein, a spokesperson for Minnelli, said the Academy Award winner "has valiantly battled substance abuse over the years and whenever she has needed to seek treatment she has done so. She is currently making excellent progress at an undisclosed facility."
According to TMZ, Minnelli has been in the treatment facility for several days.
The actress, who won the best actress Oscar in 1973 for her leading role in Cabaret, has openly spoken about her alcoholism in the past.
