Yorgos Lanthimos' film, which also stars Rachel Weisz and John C. Reilly, will now hit theaters May 13.

The Lobster, which stars Colin Farrell and Rachel Weisz, has gotten a new release date from A24.

Yorgos Lanthimos' Cannes Jury Prize winner will now open in theaters on May 13, 2016. That's a change from the March 11 release originally scheduled by Alchemy, which first acquired the film in May at the Cannes Film Festival.

A24 then picked up the U.S. rights to The Lobster amid mounting speculation that Alchemy is facing financial pressures. The Lobster trailer features Farrell playing a single man with 45 days to find a mate, or he'll be turned into an animal in the film.

The indie also stars John C. Reilly, Lea Seydoux and Ben Whishaw. CAA, which repped The Lobster's sale to Alchemy at Cannes, also handled the deal with A24 in Berlin.
