Locarno Open Doors Unveils Indian Projects
The festival's co-production lab is dedicated to India this year.
NEW DELHI -- The Open Doors co-production lab of the Locarno Film Festival (Aug. 3-13) has announced the final 12 Indian projects selected from over 200 submissions.
With India as this year's spotlight country for the lab, the selected films are in 18 different languages from 30 regions in India.
The Open Doors co-production lab will take place Aug. 6-9, as part of the 64th edition of the festival.
The selected projects are:

"Burqa Boxers," by Alka Raghuram
"The Island Within" (Char), by Sourav Sarangi
"The Judgement" (Jat Panchayat), by Satish Manwar
"The Gentle Dance" (Lasya), by Anup Singh
"The Penance" (Samaadhi), by Sidharth Srinivasan
"Sebastian Wants to Remember," by Vasant Nath
"The Trapper's Snare," by Shanker Raman
"Thread" (Le Fil), by Lilium Leonard
"Devastated" (Vidhvastha), by Ashish Avikunthak
Since its inception in 2003, Open Doors has been supported by the Swiss Foreign Ministry’s Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). The lab is organized in close collaboration with the Festival’s Industry Office and also enjoys support from partners such as ACE (Ateliers du Cinema Europeen), EAVE (European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs), EPC (European Producers Club) and Producers Network Marche du Film (Festival de Cannes).
