'Lockout': First 5 Minutes of Sci-Fi Thriller Starring Guy Pearce Released (Video)
The FilmDistrict/Open Road-distributed movie opens in theaters on April 13.
The first five minutes of FilmDistrict and Open Road's sci-fi action thriller, Lockout, have hit the web, just days before the film's release.
Set in the near future, the movie stars Guy Pearce as a wrongly-convicted man who is offered his freedom if he can rescue the president's daughter (Maggie Grace) from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates.

Directed by James Mather and Stephen St. Leger, the sci-fi thriller opens in theaters in the U.S. on April 13. The screenplay was written by Mather, St. Leger and Luc Besson.
The first five minutes of the movie, released by Besson's Europa and containing French subtitiles, reveal that the thriller will have plenty of action, with Pearce's character fighting several bad guys, running from a helicopter and jumping off a roof.
In the opening scene, Snow (Pearce) is being interrogated about what happened one night. Snow is not cooperating with the interviewer, and is repeatedly pummeled by one of his captors.
The scene then flips to a flashback of the night in question, with Snow fighting a man in a hotel room. Snow then gets a suitcase from a dying man named Frank, and evades some other guys shooting at him. He makes it to the roof of the hotel, where a helicopter begins shooting at him. He not-so-gracefully leaps off the hotel roof to escape, and runs through the crowded streets.
