Runway Rock: House of Holland's Classic Rock Playlist

The London runways are having a '60s moment with a classic rock soundtrack befitting of a Carnaby Street showcase.

Listening to classic rock in London brings forth a strange nostalgia that transports you to Carnaby Street at the height of the swingin' '60s (even if you were never close to going to Carnaby Street in the 1960s, because you weren't yet born). But that's clearly what Henry Holland hoped to accomplish at his spring 2015 show on Sept. 13, which offered a modern nod to the bright, shiny shift dresses and matching short sleeve pant outfits that typified Twiggy's time — before heading into San Francisco's '70s flower child era via patchwork denim and multiple pieces of crochet.

While the likes of Rita Ora, Daisy Lowe and Alexa Chung bopped along in Holland's front row, a soundtrack worthy of your awesome dad's record collection played along -- Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeplin, included. Earlier in the day, Emilia Wickstead played some Spencer Davis Group at her show while Marchesa threw the Rolling Stones into her catwalk mix. Guess London fashion Week designers all saw the same memo.
