Longtime Dick Wolf Collaborator Arthur Forney Signs New Overall Deal
The 25-year veteran of Wolf Films has signed a new pact with Wolf and Universal Television.
Wolf Films veteran Arthur Forney is staying put. The producer-director has signed a new overall deal with Dick Wolf's prolific shingle and Universal Television that will keep him on their trio of NBC series.
“As head of postproduction, Arthur Forney is one of the irreplaceable pieces of the Wolf Films hierarchy," said Wolf. "I've worked with him every day on every episode we've produced for more than two decades. The fact that he has also directed some of the best episodes on all our series is merely icing on the cake.”
Forney, who's been with Wolf Films for 25 years, serves as head of all postproduction operations and serves as co-executive producer and director for Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. (That roster could soon grow even more as NBC readies yet another entry in the Chicago franchise.)
Starting out at Warner Bros. before moving to Universal, Forney was an editor on Magnum P.I. before joining Wolf in 1988 to work on the original Law & Order and its ensuing spinoffs. He started directing in 1994 and has more than 30 episodes under his belt. He will direct the 2015-16 season premieres of SVU and Chicago P.D.
He is repped by Paul Alan Smith at ESA.
