Longtime Showbiz Publicist Dick Brooks Dies at 81
Studio veteran launched his own firm with Bo Derek as client.
Veteran Hollywood publicist Dick Brooks died May 16 following heart surgery in Palm Springs. He was 81.
In a career that spanned more than 50 years, Brooks served as publicity director at Paramount Pictures and 20th Century Fox in New York and at Warner Bros. in Los Angeles.
After handling the campaign for the 1979 box office smash 10 at Warners, he launched Dick Brooks Unlimited with 10 star Bo Derek as his first client.
