Los Angeles Experiences Hottest October on Record
Twenty-five days in October reached highs of 80 degrees and higher, according to City News Service.
October 2015 shattered Southern California records as the hottest month in Los Angeles.
The National Weather Service reports that the average mean temperature in downtown Los Angeles was 75.6 degrees last month — shattering the previous record of 74.2, in place since 1983.
According to City News Service, 25 days in October reached highs of 80 degrees and higher. The National Centers for Environmental Information marked California as having the warmest weather to date for the period between Jan. and Oct. 2015.
Other California cities including Sacramento, San Jose and San Diego experienced record-breaking warmth this October.
