Lost NYC Dog Found Dead After Search Aided By Kevin Bacon, Will Arnett
The owner announced Molly was found dead on the West Side Highway.
New York rescue dog Molly went missing on June 17 after she got scared by fireworks and ran away from her owner. Celebrities like Kevin Bacon and Will Arnett spread the word about her as the search expanded around the Upper West Side, but unfortunately, Molly didn't make it.
"We are heartbroken," owner Marco Schnabl and his sister Gabi wrote in a letter posted on Facebook. "We lost our best friend and the best dog in the world." Molly's body was found Tuesday on the West Side Highway at West 112th Street.
Both Arnett and Bacon posted messages about Molly on social media when she was missing.

"When Molly decided to leave this world — she did again something very beautiful — she brought all of you in our lives," wrote the Schnabl siblings. "Most of you we never met — but your hearts were open to help us — not expecting anything. You did not know us, but all of you offered so much love. We met new friends and learned that there is a lot of love, hope and friendship in this world. We are thankful for that experience."
