Soon-to-launch digital-streaming service Blackpills is bulking up its programming with a new series from French film director Louis Leterrier.

Blackpills, which is expected to debut this spring, has picked up Leterrier-directed thriller Tycoon. The series, which stars Jon Fletcher (The Messengers) and Chelsea Tavares (Make It or Break It), follows someone who is offered $5 million but in exchange must let someone else make every decision for the next year.

Leterrier said in a statement that he was "intrigued to dip my feet into a new venture, creating a digital series commenting on how [to] digest content in this social media age. Blackpills' diverse portfolio reaches audiences of every interest. I was elated to take part in directing the series."

Guillaume Lacroix (The Players) is producing for Together Media with Ondamax for Blackpills.

Blackpills, which focuses on short-form scripted content, was started by Deezer co-founder Daniel Marhely and former CanalPlus executive Patrick Holzman. The company has been buying up a number of projects in recent months ahead of its launch, including digital series Pineapple, which had its world premiere at Sundance. Tycoon is expected to roll out on Blackpills this spring.
