'Love & Friendship' Trailer: Kate Beckinsale, Chloe Sevigny Channel Jane Austen
"What a mistake you made marrying him: too old to be governable, too young to die."
Kate Beckinsale and Chloe Sevigny have marriage on the mind in the first trailer for Love & Friendship.
Reuniting with Whit Stillman, who directed them on The Last Days of Disco in 1998, the two star in the adaptation of a relatively unfamiliar early Jane Austen novella, "Lady Susan."
Beckinsale stars as Lady Susan Vernon Martin, a woman with "no money and no husband" but "has an uncanny understanding of men's natures."
And that she does, as she tells Sevigny's Alicia Johnson, "What a mistake you made marrying him: too old to be governable, too young to die."
Roadside Attractions and Amazon Studios will release Love & Friendship on May 16.
