The new agreement with Paramount is one of the biggest for the German outlet of Amazon-owned VOD service.

COLOGNE, Germany - The German division of Lovefilm has signed a major streaming deal with Paramount Pictures, giving the group subscription VOD rights to the studio’s current line-up, including blockbusters Transformers: Dark Side of The Moon, True Grit and Super 8.

The multi-year agreement follows on a similar deal with mini-major StudioCanal and could prove a big boost to Lovefilm’s subscription service here. Lovefilm, which is controlled by Amazon, started its online streaming service in Germany late last year.

The group, which also operates in the U.K. and Scandinavia, boasts more than 1.5 million subscribers.
