Lucy Lawless, Stephen Moyer Join Cast of 'Chicago' at Hollywood Bowl
The "Spartacus" and "True Blood" stars are joined by Drew Carey and "Les Miserables" breakout Samantha Barks in the live production, which has three performances in July.
Spartacus star Lucy Lawless and True Blood's Stephen Moyer are toplining the Hollywood Bowl's three-night production of Chicago this July.
Lawless will play Mama Morton while Moyer will take on the role of Billy Flynn. Les Miserables standout Samantha Barks has landed the role of Velma, while Drew Carey will portray Amos. The casting of Roxie Hart will be announced shortly.
Brooke Shields, who starred in the Broadway and West End productions of Chicago, will direct the musical — marking her directorial debut. Rob Fisher, who serves as supervising music director of Chicago for worldwide productions, will conduct.
Chicago will be performed at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 26 and Saturday, July 27, and 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 28.
Barks made her feature film debut in 2012's Les Miserables. The stage vet has appeared onstage in Cabaret and Les Miserables.
Moyer, currently starring in HBO's True Blood, is also no stranger to theater, having worked with the National Theatre of Wales, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Oxford Stage Company and the Young Vic in England.

Carey, who hosts CBS' The Price Is Right, previously appeared in a Hollywood Bowl production of Hairspray as Wilbur Turnblad.
