Luis Silberwasser Named Telemundo President
The former Discovery Networks International chief content officer will start his new role at NBCUniversal in August.
Luis Silberwasser has been named president of Telemundo Network, starting in August.
Silberwasser was most recently evp and chief content officer for Discovery Networks International, based in London. He will have overall responsibility for NBCUniversal's Spanish-language broadcast network, including Telemundo Studios, the leading producer of original Spanish-language primetime content for U.S. Hispanics.
He will report to Joe Uva, chairman of NBCUniversal's Hispanic Enterprises and Content, and will be based in Miami.

Silberwasser has worked for Discovery since 1998. Prior to that, he served as brand manager for Secret and Oil of Olay at Procter & Gamble.
Discovery Networks International president JB Perrette recently announced that Silberwasser was leaving the company for a new career opportunity.
