Rupert Friend, Clemence Poesy cast in romantic drama

Rupert Friend and Clemence Poesy will star in Benoit Philippon's directorial debut "Lullaby for Pi" for Forecast Pictures and Minds Eye Entertainment. In the romantic drama, Friend will play a jazz singer, traumatized by the death of his wife, who encounters a mysterious woman, played by Poesy.

Jean-Charles Levy and Kevin DeWalt are producing with Christine Vachon of Killer Films. The film is co-produced by Frederique Dumas of Studio 37, who retains French theatrical distribution and video rights to the project and holds the international sales, which will be run by Kinology. Canadian rights are held by Minds Eye International.

Friend's recent credits include "The Young Victoria" and "Cheri," while Poesy has starred in "Heartless" and "In Bruges."
