Lynn Hirshfield upped at Participant

Worked as marketing consultant on 'An Inconvenient Truth'

Lynn Hirshfield has been promoted to the newly created position of senior vp publishing at Participant Media.

Hirshfield has worked at Participant since 2005, initially as a marketing consultant on the eco-documentary "An Inconvenient Truth." That association led to her work on the company's monthly newsletter and other activities.

In her new post, Hirshfield will be responsible for launching Participant's publishing division to complement the company's film and social-action efforts. In a precursor to its publishing launch, Participant last year announced a four-paperback partnership with PublicAffairs Books.
