Machinima Adds Two Key Execs During Hiring Spree
Jamie Weissenborn has joined the Warner Bros.-backed digital media firm as chief revenue officer, while James Glasscock joins as senior vp strategy and business development.
Machinima CEO Chad Gutstein continues to build out the executive ranks at the gaming-centric digital media company he joined last year.
The company announced today that it has tapped Playboy veteran James Glasscock as senior vp strategy and business development, less than a week after announcing the appointment of Jamie Weissenborn to the role of chief revenue officer.
Glasscock joins Machinima from Playboy Plus Entertainment, the company's TV division, where he was senior vp strategic planning and operations. Prior to Playboy, he managed consulting firm Front Row Ventures. At Machinima, he will manage the company's relationships with strategic platform partners and coordinate efforts to identify, incubate and launch strategic initiatives.
"With new social video platforms, technologies and monetization opportunities emerging daily, Machinima needs an entrepreneurial executive whose experience straddles digital and traditional media to lead our initiatives," said Gutstein. "James has not only demonstrated strategic deal-making expertise but the excellence in operational execution needed to make our partnerships really work."
Weissenborn, meanwhile, hails from urban YouTube channel BlackTree TV, where he served as interim CEO. He was previously senior vp online video and content strategy at consulting firm MediaLink, where his clients included Machinima, Maker Studios, ZEFR and Vevo.
In the newly created role, Weissenborn will oversee Machinima's direct sales efforts, including branded content and sponsorships and premium advertising for Machinima's talent network and original programming. He will report directly to Gutstein.
