'Mad Men' Actress Joins Indie Drama 'Kilimanjaro' (Exclusive)
Abigail Spencer, best known for her work in Mad Men, has joined the indie film Kilimanjaro, being directed by Walter Strafford from a script he wrote.
The story centers on a man (Brian Geraghty) who is determined to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro after a recent breakup. Spencer will play his receptionist, who he develops a crush on.
Spencer, who played Don Draper’s mistress on Mad Men, last week booked a starring role in Sundance Channel’s first scripted series, Rectify.
She also continues to rack up feature credits. Spencer was last seen in This Means War with Chris Pine and Reese Witherspoon, and has several movies in post.
They include Lionsgate’s The Haunting In Georgia; Curtis Hansen’s surfing movie Mavericks, which stars Gerard Butler; and Disney’s Oz: The Great and Powerful, being directed by Sam Raimi.
Spencer is repped by ICM, Untitled Entertainment and Hansen Jacobson.
