MadRiver Pictures Nabs Action-Thriller Pitch 'The Plane' From Novelist Charles Cumming
The high-concept action-thriller will be produced by Marc Butan with Di Bonaventura Pictures’ Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian.
MadRiver Pictures has acquired The Plane, an original pitch from novelist Charles Cumming.
The project is described as a high-concept action-thriller, but the logline is being kept under wraps.
MadRiver’s Marc Butan will produce alongside Di Bonaventura Pictures’ Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian, with Alexandra Loewy overseeing for the company. Edward Fee and Riverstone Pictures' Deepak Nayar and Nik Bower are executive producing.
Cumming has written eight spy novels, and his most recent, A Divided Spy, will be published in the U.S. in February. The first in the Thomas Kell trilogy, A Foreign Country, was acquired by Raindog Films, and Cumming is currently adapting the novel for television. He also wrote the screenplay called How to Catch a Russian Spy for StudioCanal, which Drake Doremus is attached to direct.
Cumming is repped by CAA, Grandview and Janklow/Nesbitt.
