Mark Cuban's AXS TV Announces 'Gotham Comedy Live' (Exclusive Video)
Orlando Jones will kick off the 12-week series Jan. 17.
AXS TV will air Gotham Comedy Live for 12 straight weeks.
Orlando Jones will kick off the series Jan. 17, followed by comics Mario Cantone and Robert Kelly. Every Thursday night, comedy fans will see a different comic performing stand-up while hosting the evening's additional four acts at the New York club.
“Gotham Comedy Live continues AXS TV's commitment and growth of live entertainment programming," said AXS TV's Mark Cuban. "No better kick off than Orlando Jones, who is guaranteed to set the bar high for the slate of comedians to appear after him each Thursday on AXS TV."
“Because of Chris Mazzilli’s stature in the comedy world and Mark Cuban’s unique vision for an all-live-all-the-time network, Gotham and AXS are the perfect partners for a show like this,” said Gotham Comedy Live executive producer Dave Goldberg. “The whole point of going to a comedy club is to bust a gut and lose yourself for an hour. AXS TV gives the viewer a front row seat at Gotham and the chance to laugh out loud with the crowd and the country’s best comedians, raw and unedited – the way comedy should be.”
Gotham Comedy Club was the launchpad for Amy Schumer, Sebastian Maniscalco, Colin Quinn, Jim Gaffigan, Lewis Black and Jerry Seinfeld.
AXS TV is a TV channel for live entertainment developed by Cuban.
