Mark Verheiden to write 'Quartermain'
Sci-fi project is one of 17 that DW brought with it from ParMark Verheiden has been hired to pen the DreamWorks project "Quartermain."
The sci-fi adventure springs from an original idea, though no plot details are available. Holly Bario and Jonathan Eirich are overseeing the project for the studio.
"Quartermain" is one of the 17 projects DreamWorks developed then paid to take with it when it left the Paramount fold last year. Paramount retains the right to co-finance and co-distribute the movie, as it does on DreamWorks projects "Deep Sea Cowboys," "Motorcade" and "Dinner for Schmucks."
Verheiden, repped by CAA and Untitled Entertainment, is a writer and producer on TV's "Battlestar Galactica" and "Heroes" and a former writer-producer on "Smallville." He also has an adaptation of "Teen Titans" in development at Warner Bros. and "Ark," based on his comic, in development at Columbia.
