Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Shakes Up TV Execs
Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia is shaking up its TV executive ranks as it continues to fight declining ratings.
Geoffrey Darby has been named general manager and will oversee the TV division, reporting to MSLO President and chief operating officer Lisa Gersh. Michael Morrison will be executive producer of The Martha Stewart Show, which premieres its seventh season on Sept. 26 on the Hallmark Channel.
Both appointments are effective immediately.
Says Gersh in a statement: "I've worked with Geoffrey for many years and have been consistently impressed by his creativity, his insights and his leadership skills. I am pleased that he has joined our team and I know he will make significant contributions to the development of our television footprint. Michael has deep experience as a talented and accomplished producer and development executive. I am confident that together, Geoffrey and Michael will bring new dimension and energy to our television programming and help the business to realize its full potential."
"Geoffrey and Michael are seasoned professionals whose vast range of television experience, exciting ideas, and great enthusiasm for our programming will be integral to our success in the months and years ahead. I'm looking forward to working with these very talented and accomplished executives on our upcoming season of "The Martha Stewart Show," as we continue to create innovative and informative how-to content that inspires and entertains our viewers," adds Stewart.
Before Darby joined MSLO, he was EVP of programming at The Weather Channel, and president of production at Oxygen.
Morrison was previously a programming consultant and ep at A&E. He also helped launch Late Night With Conan O'Brien.
