'Marwencol' Wins Jameson Find Your Audience Award, Grant (Video)

The Independent Spirit Award-nominated documentary receives a $50,000 marketing and distribution grant, funded by Jameson Irish Whiskey.

Marwencol, a documentary about a man who has to adjust to a new life when he sustains brain damage after being severely beaten, has won the Jameson Find Your Audience Award.

The award includes a $50,000 marketing and distribution grant, sponsored by Jameson Irish Whiskey.

The film is nominated in the best documentary category at Saturday's Independent Spirit Awards.

The documentary was selected by a committee that includes producer Effie T. Brown, Warner Bros. Head of Worldwide Marketing Sue Kroll, CEO of Landmark Theatres Ted Mundorff and producer Gail Mutrux.  

Jameson is a title sponsor of the Independent Spirit Awards, to be held Saturday in Santa Monica, for the second year in a row.
