Mary Elizabeth Winstead Makes NYFW Debut, Wears Jenny Packham for First Time
Before Jenny Packham's show, we caught up with the actress-singer about her first-ever fashion week experience and the stars she's rooting for at Sunday's Emmy Awards.
From Zelda Williams to Skyler Samuels, there's been a bevy of babes hitting up New York Fashion Week for the first time this season. And at Jenny Packham's runway presentation on Sunday, we discovered another boldfacer making her fashion week debut: Mary Elizabeth Winstead, star of PBS' new series Mercy Street and one half of the music duo Got a Girl.

"It's been so much fun. When I first got here, I think it took me a little getting used to the chaotic energy of the whole thing because I'm so used to laid back L.A. so I was kind of thrown into that," Winstead told Pret-a-Reporter before sitting front row with Arrow's Katie Cassidy and Shameless' Emma Greenwell at Packham's show. "It took me a day or so to adjust."
"Once I got with the wavelength, it's been really great and exciting and fun and totally different than anything I've experienced," added the first-time frow-er, who also attended the Zimmermann, Pamella Roland and Monique Lhuillier shows. "It's so different than any event in L.A. It's very specific to New York and feels like a very special thing to be a part of."

While it's been somewhat of a whirlwind for the Got a Girl vocalist, she shared that "every show I've been to, everybody is so kind and open and so excited to see the clothes and the designers themselves."
Dressed in a fully-embellished Jenny Packham dress with an open back, Winstead revealed that it's actually the first time she's ever worn the British designer's work.
"On my Pinterest pages, I always had so many of her dresses on there, and for whatever reason, I never wore any of her pieces so tonight I'm finally getting to wear one, so I'm very excited," said Winstead, mentioning that she's always appreciated Packham's creations decorated in embellishments and sparkle, which we saw plenty of from Packham's spring 2016 collection.
After Packham, Winstead attends the 3.1 Phillip Lim presentation on Monday, and she'll be heading back to L.A. the same night — just in time to take a breather before catching the Emmys on Sunday night.
So, who will she be rooting for to take home the gold?
"My best friend, Amanda Crew, on Silicon Valley [nominated for best comedy series] — I'm so excited for her show. I've seen what she's wearing, which I won't spoil what it is," she teased. "And I don't know her very well but she's sort of a friend of a friend, and I feel like I know her, but I'm rooting for [Orphan Black actress] Tatiana Maslany [nominated for lead actress in a drama series] as well."
