Boyfriend of 'Glee' Star Becca Tobin Found Dead
Matt Bendik, the boyfriend of Glee star Becca Tobin, died Thursday in Philadelphia, one of his friends confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.
An autopsy did not immediately establish the cause of death, and further studies will be done Philadelphia Department of Health spokesperson Jeff Moran told THR Friday.
"There was no evidence of trauma," Moran said. "As is the usual procedure in evaluating a sudden, unexpected death, the Philadelphia Medical Examiner we will be conducting additional studies."
According to TMZ, which first reported the news, a maid discovered Bendik's body in a Philadelphia hotel room Thursday. The site reported he and Tobin had spent Wednesday night out on the town. It was unclear where Tobin was when the body was discovered.
Several of Bendik's close friends began posting about the news on social media on Thursday evening, with one writing she was "heartbroken."
Bendik, 35, ran several nightclubs around the country, serving as managing partner of AV and Voyeur/DBA nightclubs in Los Angeles. He also served as Director of Nightlife at Addiction night club at The Modern Honolulu hotel in Hawaii.
DBA posted a tribute to him late on Thursday.
On Fox's Glee, Tobin has played Kitty Wilde since season four. Sunday marks the one-year anniversary when Glee star Cory Monteith died in a a Vancouver hotel room from a combination of heroin and alcohol.
Tobin's rep did not respond to a request for comment.
