Matthew Weiner, Glen Mazzara, Patric Verrone Among WGA Board Seat Winners
The two showrunners topped the vote count, while Verrone just managed to hold onto his seat.
Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner, The Walking Dead and Damien executive producer Glen Mazzara and former WGA president Patric Verrone were among the candidates elected to the WGA West board of directors Monday.
The complete list of those elected to two-year terms on the guild’s governing body were announced by the organization as Mazzara (1,732 votes), Weiner (1,597), Marjorie David (1,525, incumbent), Jonathan Fernandez (1,480, inc.), Chip Johannessen (1,394, inc.), Zoanne Clack (1,393), Courtney Ellinger (1,281) and Verrone (1,175, inc.).
Only 72 votes separated Verrone, who led the union during its 2007-08 strike, from the candidate in next place. Those who didn’t prevail were Ligiah Villalobos (1,103 votes), Ali LeRoi (791), David Slack (698), Keenen Ivory Wayans (667) and Richard Keith (568).
The number of eligible voting members was 9,120, with a total of 2,440 valid ballots cast, representing 26.75 percent voter turnout.
