ROME -- Spanish actress Carmen Maura will be presented with the Locarno Excellence Award for career achievement, joining previously announced honoree Michel Piccoli, as a recipient at the 60th annual Locarno Film Festival, organizers said Tuesday.

Maura, who is expected to travel to Locarno for the honor, has made more than 100 films in a career that dates back to the 1960s.

In addition to presenting the award, the festival will screen Alex de la Iglesia's 2000 black comedy "La Comunidad" (Common Wealth), in which Maura plays the main character, who finds a bundle of money in a dead man's house she is trying to sell.
