Pay TV veteran Jamie McCabe has been upped to the newly created post of executive vp worldwide pay-per-view, video-on-demand and electronic sell-through at 20th Century Fox Film Corp.

In his expanded role, McCabe will be responsible for all aspects of distribution and marketing for Fox's film and television content in the rapidly growing video-on-demand and electronic sell-through markets. McCabe, who most recently was senior vp for this area, has been responsible for implementing major Fox product deals with such names as Amazon, AOL, CinemaNow and Movielink. He will continue to report to Peter Levinsohn, president of worldwide pay television and digital media, who announced the promotion Wednesday.

"Jamie and I have worked together for over 13 years, and he has consistently shown himself to possess tremendous deal-making creativity and a sharp business acumen," Levinsohn said. "I am very pleased to have Jamie continue as a major part of our team as we pursue all of the emerging opportunities around the world."

McCabe joined Fox in the pay television group in 1993. Before that he worked at the Walt Disney Co. and Merrill Lynch.
