Mediapeers, Astra join forces on B2B

APS to handle delivery of TV, films for Mediapeers clients

CANNES -- Berlin-based B2B group Mediapeers has signed a deal with satellite technology company Astra Platform Services that will see APS handle the delivery of TV series and films between Mediapeers clients.

More MIPTV coverage
Mediapeers, launched in 2007 with seed capital from Deutsche Telekom's T-Venture Fund, is an online platform for the B2B sale and delivery of film and television content. More than 500 distributors use the site for the showcase and sale of their programs. Mediapeers' catalog contains more than 40,000 titles.

Under the agreement, announced at MIPTV Monday, APS will handle the technical back-office work for Mediapeers, preparing and delivering programs in whatever format desired -- from HD broadcast to VOD, online streaming or mobile.
