Medical Examiner Rules That Dead Woman at Soho House Was Strangled and Drowned
A report says that suspect Nicholas Brooks could face upgraded charges as a result.
NEW YORK - Swimsuit designer Sylvie Cachay, who was found dead in a bathtub at Manhattan’s SoHo House, was strangled and drowned, the Medical Examiner's Office has ruled, the New York Post reported Thursday.
Her boyfriend, Nicholas Brooks - son of Oscar-winning songwriter Joseph Brooks, who faces separate sexual assault charges - could face upgraded charges of murder as a result, according to the Post.
The young Brooks has so far been indicted on strangulation charges, and the Manhattan District Attorney's office had no immediate comment on whether it would seek murder charges, the Post said.
Cachay's body was found submerged in a bathtub at SoHo House earlier this month.
