Ellison's producer credits include 'Her', 'Zero Dark Thirty' and the upcoming '20th Century Women'.
Megan Ellison will be the recipient of the 2017 Visionary Award at the 28th annual Producers Guild Awards.
Ellison is the founder and head of the production and finance company Annapurna Pictures, which is the production company behind the upcoming A24 release 20th Century Women.
Annapurna is responsible for Zero Dark Thirty, American Hustle, Her and Foxcatcher, earning 30 Oscar nominations since 2012, including three best picture noms.
Currently, the company is in postproduction on Alexander Payne's latest, Downsizing, starring Matt Damon and Kristen Wiig, and Kathryn Bigelow’s untitled Detroit project, starring John Boyega.
“Megan Ellison joined our industry when she founded Annapurna Pictures just over six years ago, and she got here just in time. Megan and her team's passion for great stories and uncompromising storytellers has been an inspiration to independent filmmakers and their audiences alike," said PGA chairs Donald De Line and Amy Pascal.
Prior winners of the Visionary Award include Brad Pitt, Chris Meledandri and Russell Simmons.
